Diploma in Outdoor Recreation

The Diploma in Outdoor Recreation is the preferred qualifications required to work as an outdoor professional in middle or senior management roles in areas such as client services, operations, staffing and human resources, programming and executive administration in outdoor organisations.

TAFE Western will be offering this course through the following delivery modes:

1. Recognition pathway – this may be the course for you if you are currently working in the outdoor recreation/education industry or a closely association profession in a senior leadership or middle management role. Recognition is a process where an assessor looks at your existing skills, experience and qualifications and makes a judgement against the requirements of the course.

In order to course complete you will need to achieve competency in all core units and in two to three activity skillsets. Recognition is costed individually.

2. One Semester full time study pathway - this is a fulltime course that will have the first cohort commencing in 2016. You must have the prerequisite of a Certificate 4 in Outdoor Recreation. This course will be conducted in the classroom, online and through practical field trips. The activity stream for this course is bushwalking in an uncontrolled environment and alpine area.
